The wheels of modern life turn by evaporating the solid and physical elements. As a result of this transformation, it also brings flexibility to perception and understanding. The concept of “distance” in the past and the concept of “distance” today are extremely different… New forms of communication developed as a result of technological revolutions change the habits of hundreds of years. In today's conditions, no distance is "far". There is no longer any place that is unreachable or inaccessible.
Current changes are beyond the comprehension of the pre-modern world. It is a fact that these changes make daily life easier… However, while at the same time eroding concepts such as place, locality and regionalism, these concepts also erode the feelings around them. It is impossible for the architectural field not to be affected by these changes. Local codes are being replaced by universal trends and transformations.
As DK Interior Architecture, Interior Architect Dilek Karaman, we conduct intensive studies and interviews on the region, local patterns and cultural-physical resources at the birth of each project. We are conducting a multi-layered research and analysis effort to reveal the collective and psychological depth of the project. Social, economic and ideological factors are included in these readings… We proceed by analyzing special conditions, with the awareness that each project has subjective data.
